Mak, a proudly Cuban woman who arrived in the United States 10 years ago, started her entrepreneurial journey out of a moment of necessity and faith. “Never underestimate the power of your dreams because when you pursue them with determination, success becomes inevitable,” Mak shares. With a life marked by the challenges of balancing work and family, she faced the harsh reality of being the sole breadwinner after her divorce. While working for two companies and considering driving for a platform, a prayer gave her the clarity she needed: to invest in her future and her community. Today, Mak leads three businesses that offer comprehensive consulting to transform lives, especially within the Hispanic community:

• Casa Voltare: A real estate investment company specializing in buying, renovating, and selling properties (fix and flip), which serves as the financial foundation for her other ventures.

• Mak Bicet Investments: An academy dedicated to financial education and credit repair, designed to empower individuals and help them take control of their finances.

• Imagen Pro: Created alongside her daughter, this company focuses on structuring and managing businesses, offering services such as branding, logo design, business registration, and D-U-N-S number assignment to build strong, well-positioned enterprises.

Her entrepreneurial journey began organically, through studying, self-teaching, and eventually advising people in her close circle while strengthening her own knowledge through podcasts and online resources.

Facing Challenges with Determination

The road to success has not been without obstacles. For Mak, the biggest challenge was overcoming her own mindset. Coming from a working-class family where traditional employment was the norm, she had to dismantle limiting beliefs to trust she could build her own destiny. She also faced misinformation:

“There are many resources for entrepreneurship, but they’re not easily accessible,” she says.

Her tenacity and commitment to learning allowed her to break barriers and move forward. Today, her personal experience inspires her to show that anyone can achieve success from a place of humility and realism.

She plans to organize free seminars to teach people how to invest and take advantage of available resources, especially for her religious community and the community at large.
